Let's be Thankful Everyday

By: Matt Altman, Co-Founder and CEO of Sportiqe

The Thanksgiving holiday is rooted in American culture and traditions. From Turkey, stuffing, and yams, to family gatherings, football watching, and shopping. The Thanksgiving holiday has a memory for everyone.

One Thanksgiving memory for me was as a child, we would go around the table to share what we were thankful for. I loved hearing what people would say, and I enjoyed sharing the things in my life that made me thankful. The whole experience made me feel good.

In fact, the experience was sort of a revelation of sorts for me. The “Ah Ha” moment for me was what I felt in expressing thankfulness, a.k.a. Gratitude. I thought to myself, “if I feel good after I express what I’m thankful for once a year, what would happen if I did it everyday?” This was a big life hack for me because in my teenage adolescent years I battled anxiety.

I started being thankful daily. I found gratitude in the little things happening in my life, as well as the big things. It didn't matter the size. What mattered was the expression and earnest feeling from the expression of being thankful. Every day I felt better than the next. The feeling of gratitude continues to grow as I continue to carry out this tradition daily.

So, this Thanksgiving holiday, may you find deep gratitude in your life. May you be inspired to find it every day forthcoming.
