How to get a JumpstarT ON
your new year's intentions
Some say new year resolutions are overrated. But here at Sportiqe, we love setting goals, pushing our boundaries and minds to be better and accomplishing great things.
Whether setting resolutions is something you love or don’t love, we can all agree – the new year is a chance to start fresh. It’s a chance to try something new, leave the past behind and focus on the future.
Forget “new year, new you” – try “new year, ever-evolving you.” After you’ve set some of your resolutions, goals or overall intentions for the new year, it’s time to enjoy the journey. With this spirit in mind, we recommend trying out these tips to kick off your new year with courage, style and enthusiasm.
1. Measure Your Goals
It’s great to have a goal or goals set for the coming year. What’s even better? Tracking your goals. It doesn’t have to be fancy but set some metrics. Some goals are easier to track; for example, if your goal is to work out three times a week, use a list, your notes app, a fitness app or pen and paper to mark your weekly accomplishments. If your goal is to find ways to be happier, add some specificity to your goals to track (example: “I want to write down what I’m grateful for each day”).
2. Find Ways to Make Resolutions Fun
Fulfilling a resolution for an entire year is a long time. It’s bound to get monotonous. Make it fun by adding in little comforts. Do you have your heart set on training to climb a challenging mountain? Opt for some new apparel or gear to make your trek more effortless and enjoyable (check out our Best Sellers for ideas). Never underestimate the power of rewards; add in little treats for yourself as you hit new milestones.
3. Be Flexible and Open Minded
Your starting point and the finish line are not always a straight line, and rarely does the plan you set go perfectly. Remember, there are many different ways to accomplish a goal or fulfill a resolution. The trick is to pivot when you need to, and be brave enough to admit when you need to modify or reimagine your goal. The most important part is that you keep trying and continue to grow.
Finding ways to improve ourselves – and going for it – takes courage. From all of us at Sportiqe, congratulations on wanting to improve yourself in 2022. We wish you the best and will be rooting for you and your goals, whatever they may be.
