The most comfortable shoes...

January 19, 2017

My love for shoes goes back for as long as I can remember. I guess it started as a kid growing up in Chicago who worshiped Michael Jordan. The Air Jordans were like the Holy Grail. Every season when the new Jordan style came out, I would beg my parents until they would finally cave and get me a pair. As I got older, I expanded my horizons and found a real affinity for all kinds of shoes. My feeling is the brighter and funkier, the better. I still get goose bumps when I open up a new box of shoes. One of my favorite smells is that of a brand new pair of shoes fresh out of the box. I usually put each new pair on my desk and admire them for a few days before they go into my shoe rotation. If you come to my house, you’ll find closets full of shoes. If you ask my wife, she’ll tell you I have way too many shoes. I wear a different pair every day depending on mood… and Sportiqe outfit of course. Here are some of my favorite kicks right now.

I love Living in Phoenix, but for 4 months of the year it’s a bit like living on the sun. Wearing shoes with socks isn’t really preferable. However, I’m not a huge fan of rocking sandals either. About 5 years ago I was introduced to a shoe company out of Chicago called Bucketfeet. They have slides that I LOVE. They have artists from all over the world create different patterns on the canvas. You can pretty much wear them for any occasion. My summer uniform is a pair of Sportiqe shorts, a Sportiqe Comfy T and a pair of Bucketfeet. If I need to “dress up” they also look great with a pair of khakis and a Sportiqe polo shirt.

When the weather finally starts to change, and wearing socks and kicks isn’t too hot. I am a huge fan of the Nike Roshe family. They are super easy to put on and some of the most comfortable shoes in the entire Nike offering right now. Roshe’s go great with just about anything. My uniform on the weekend during the fall and winter is the Sportiqe joggers or a pair of jeans and a Sportiqe Comfy T with a ROWAN hoodie or OLSEN hoodie.

On my trips to the East Coast when I know I’m going to be walking a lot and I’ll need to be super comfortable on my feet, I will almost certainly pack a pair of New Balance. The New Balance 420 Re-Engineered is another shoe that I feel is very versatile and can be worn in pretty much any situation. The New Balance kicks look great with a pair of jeans, a Sportiqe Comfy T and the JOC track jacket.

DO I ONLY WEAR GYM SHOES YOU ASK???? Well, if there is every a need to go to a place where gym shoes are frowned upon, I do have a casual dress shoe recommendation for you! Check out CAMPER. I have several pairs of CAMPER’s that I keep for the “dress up” occasion. CAMPER has the look of a dress shoe, but the comfort of a gym shoe. Lately I’ve been wearing my Campers with a pair of dark denim, a Sportiqe Comfy T and the TOBEY hoodie. You can also pull off a pair of CAMPER’s with a casual suite.

I hope some of the suggestions help you ROAM IN COMFORT for any season.
