Somedays you're the knife. Somedays you're the bread.

February 04, 2008

I wake up and don’t remember where I am.  This has been happening more frequently lately.  Just got done with a 10 day 8-city extravaganza.  I won’t bore you with all of the details.  However, it was very much fun.  I had a blast getting to catch up with some friends, and making some new ones along the way!! So many people ask me how I can deal with such a crazy schedule.  I always try to explain that if you truly love what you do, the travel is really not that bad.  Here are a few of the highlights from my last trip…
-Breakfast in Chicago with Mom and Dad.  Two months is too long to not see my parents.
-Watching football playoffs with some of the original crew: Bradley J., The BOSS, and Mike G.  I had a smile on my face for a good 12 hours straight.
-Partying with the Miller gang in Milwaukee was great.  It was nice to get out of the shop, have some drinks and catch up at the Bucks game.
-Getting to make sales calls with Michael Smucker is the best. The man is my brother from another mother.
-Thanks to Sammy Frankfort.  Letting me crash at the sickest pad in NYC was fantastic.  Sammy’s crew adopted me for the weekend.  It was much appreciated.  I really have a new love for New York City. The city has such a great energy.  I’m really glad I spent the weekend.
-SPORTIQE APPAREL is going to be at the CADET BOOK STORE at WEST POINT ACADEMY!!!!!!!!  I am so stoked, it’s an honor to be at such a historic place.
-Checking out Sportiqe Apparel at Madison Square Garden.  Our gear is in one of the most historic venues in the United States.  It’s one of the best feelings ever!
-Talking merch and music with the folks at A&M/Octone Records.  I’m a big fan of Maroon 5.  The B-side is great.  I really hope they tour this summer.
-Getting one step closer to stepping foot back inside Wrigley Field!
- Rick Schimpf and I being the only two people that spoke English at Quizno’s in Boston.  The O.A.R. gear this summer is going to be a masterpiece.
-Catching up with Tony Cap. at the NBC-Chicago studio.  Getting caught up on all the Chicago sports with the sports crew at NBC was the best!!
-Checking out the Sportiqe Apparel/Royal Elastics gear at the Royal Elastics store opening in Santa Monica, CA
-Eating meat loaf cheeseburgers with Matt Miller and Jess Frank.  It is NOT a good thing when the meat loaf special and the cheeseburger look EXACTLY the same
-Talking and laughing with Mills and Dickie (also known as the chancellor of all things evil) about complete non-sense on a flight from LAX-PHX
-Saturday night in PHX with Hov, Woody, Mills, Hogan, and some of the other cast of characters in town for the Super Bowl.  It doesn’t matter where you party, it just matters whom you’re partying with.  You can have fun ANYWHERE.
-Hogan missing his flight….NO SURPRISE THERE.
-Going to the Super Bowl with Mills and seeing a historic game.  Eli could now run for mayor of NYC and win.

The only way I can be on the road so much is because I have complete trust in the Sportiqe Apparel family back at the home office.  Matt, James, and Georgie are the best!!!  We would also like to welcome Nancy Massey to the family.  She will be making sure that WE GET PAID!!!  Thank you Nancy and welcome.
