Today we had the chance to catch up with Eric LeGrand - a source of inspiration, hope and perseverance for so many. If you're not familiar with Eric's story, watch this video and read Eric's Sportiqe HQ interview below.
What's unique about you?
My whole situation. I'm paralyzed in a wheel chair and still life a live that people told me I wouldn't be able to. I'm out and about as much as possible and traveling the whole country. My whole situation is unique because I'm doing what I'm not supposed to.
What are you a fan of?
Kevin Garnett. That's why I had to get this Hello Brooklyn shirt from you guys. I should talk about the World Cup too. A lot of people don't know that I'm into the World Cup. I remember where I was in the last World Cup, in the summer of 2010. It was the summer before I got hurt. My roommates and my friends from home were going crazy. I talk with my friends now and we're already planning on what we're going to do this year. People don't know I'm a huge soccer fan. It all came from learning the game from FIFA '06.
What inspires you?
I draw my inspiration from my mom. She gave up her life just to take care of me and learn everything about this spinal cord world so she knows how to take care of me. She's always there for me. And honestly, it's all the people that support me and all the people that are behind me. For every negative comment I get on Twitter - people telling me I'll never walk again or that I look like a Transformer in this wheelchair - there's a hundred other people that jump right on top of them. I'm an inspiration to them, and they're an inspiration to me. If I can make them better in their life by doing what I do on a daily basis by going and grinding in therapy or speaking somewhere and raising awareness, then so be it. Because I don't have to fake who I am. What you see is what you get and people are inspired by it. And that's the best part. When I talk, I'm not putting on a show. I'm speaking from my heart. And that's what people are drawn to, and that's what inspires me.

During Eric's visit, we asked him why he was a fan of Sportiqe. He said that although he can't feel the clothing on his arms or on his body, he can feel the softness of the apparel on his neck throughout the day and on his face when he's putting a new piece on. "I don't know what you do to it - silk or whatever - but just keep doing it."
