What Happens When Fashion Meets Food?

There was this burger joint called Wayne’s in the quaint little town I grew up in. Giant burgers with a stick of butter on it, toasted buns, seasoned fries, custard to die for and an old 50‘s diner atmosphere (rollerskating car-hops included)! It fed my hunger and it warmed my heart.

From the time I was allowed to leave the house alone to the day I moved away, this burger joint was synonymous with our town. My friends and I would go to Wayne’s after every significant event in our lives to celebrate (often stretching our definition of significant just for an excuse for some juicy burgers).

Now that I’m thousands of miles away, I feel that twinge in my heart [and my stomach] whenever I think of Wayne’s.

Sportiqe is on a mission to find similar places around the entire country, and design shirts for them. We believe anything that is a “must see,” “must do,” or “must have” place and whose iconic status fills you with a sense of belonging just by being there is called a “Hometown Classic.”

To me, Wayne’s fills me with that sense of belonging. It is a “Hometown Classic.”

We have five “Hometown Classic” designs for the Chicago area right now:

-Ed Debevics
-Michael’s Hot Dogs
-Manny’s Deli
-Gino’s Pizza
-Loveless Cafe

You can check out the designs on our Facebook page and purchase them at our online store (coming soon) or Chicago area Nordstroms (Michigan Ave., Oakbrook Center in Oakbrook, Old Orchard in Skokie, and Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg).

What’s your “Hometown Classic?” We’d love to hear from you! Post on our wall on our Facebook page or shoot us a tweet @Sportiqe. We look forward to sharing our passions with you!
