2010 Grammy Recap

Posted on February 01, 2010 by james

As you all know, the 2010 Grammy Awards aired last night, on CBS. Although I am not a huge fan of “pop music”, I always try and catch the Grammys. There always seems to be some sort of surprise performance or outburst that everyone is talking about on Monday. However, this year was a little uneventful for my liking. I admit this was partially my fault. I made the mistake of going on Twitter before the show. HUGE mistake! All of you on the east coast need to learn to keep your mouth shut!

Despite social media ruining any and all surprise collaborations, I still watched the entire show, start to finish. I felt the majority of the performances were sub par, however, I did find myself fist pumping to a select few.

Bon Jovi and Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles sounded great together! How was this Bon Jovi’s first Grammy performance??

Also, thought the Lil Wayne, Drake, Eminem, and Travis Barker collaboration was pretty impressive. Wish I could have heard the other 75% of the song. For those of you who missed it, I’m pretty sure a record was set for the most bleeps in television history.

I know this may sound a little biased, but personally, I think the Dave Matthews Band stole the show. The band was joined by a jazz ensemble, as well as a small choir, in an effort to recreate the music video for their hit song “You and Me”. As always Dave and the gang brought a ton of energy to the stage. For those of you who missed it, you're out of luck, the Grammys pulled the video I posted yesterday.

As I said earlier, the rest of the show really didn’t do it for me. No outbursts, no controversy….. I think the Grammys might need Kanye more than the PGA needs Tiger…Just a thought.
